AIMS

The aim of the course is to provide trainees with the basic skills and related knowledge to work in the Hospitality sector including the restaurant & bar service, hotel reception and accommodation services areas.

OBJECTIVE

This programme is designed to provide participants with a level of knowledge, skills and understanding to enable them to gain meaningful employment as a barista.

A particular focus on barista skills, customer service and food and beverage service.

Safety at work, manual handling & first aid

Food safety and hygiene

Local knowledge on tourism

Customer service in the hospitality and catering industry

Level 2 award in barista skills

Food and beverage service

Handling payments

Career planning and job seeking skills

PROGRESSION

Upon successful completion of this course, the learner will be fully qualified to work as a barista in any area of the hospitality sector.

They can also carry on with further training in this area or another area if they wish.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Upon successful competition of this course, the learner will receive a Level 2 award in Barista skills (7102-53) accredited by City & Guilds.
