AIMS

This practical course is crafted to teach participants the skills required for bar service including bartending and cocktail making. This course covers both a range of practical and social skills.

OBJECTIVE

This programme is designed to provide participants with a level of knowledge, skills and understanding to enable them work effectively and efficiently in a bar setting. 

 

COURSE MODULES

Bartending:  

  • Selecting and using equipment 
  • Displaying cocktail making techniques  
  • Displaying knowledge of cocktail specifications  
  • Displaying knowledge of spirits 
  • Displaying knowledge of beers, wines and spirits service 
  • Preparing bar and deliver service 
  • Displaying knowledge of responsible serving of alcohol 

 Cocktail Making:  

  • Selecting and using equipment 
  • Displaying cocktail making techniques 
  • Displaying knowledge of cocktail specifications  
  • Displaying knowledge of spirits 
  • Displaying knowledge of beers, wines and spirits service 
  • Preparing bar and deliver service 
  • Displaying knowledge of responsible serving of alcohol 
  • Been able to accurately Free Pour 

PROGESSION

Participants may wish continue their studies with KWETB in a complementary area, such as Nutrition for Wellness Series or other such courses. 

 

CERTIFICATION

 

City and Guilds Level 2 Award in Professional Bartending (Cocktails with free pouring).
